The Food at Matsu Is Awesome!!!!!! I always have an excellent and the staff is super nice and courteous. I eat here at least twice a week can’t get enough. Can’t wait to go back. Love you guys at Matsu.

I really enjoy this Sushi restaurant. The staff is very friendly and efficient.
I got Spicy Rolls – which were so good – but hot! Thankfully the wait staff never let my water run out!
As I have been there twice now – and never received fish poisoning – I will defiantly be returning!

If you’re looking for a great Japanese restaurant then you’ve found it! This is a family-owned Japanese restaurant at which the staff and sushi chefs are actually Japanese. I say this because the atmosphere and food at this place reflect the true nature of Japan.

The food both sushi and other cuisine are amazing and would meet the standards of any whom traveled to Japan. The prices are fair for the quality provided and the service is outstanding. I’d recommend keeping it simple and let the food do the talking.

LOVE how they pile on the tempura flakes on the sushi. My husband loves this place too & he is not a sushi fan! We like the atmosphere the most because it was spacious & intimate. The sushi was top quality. We will come back for sure.

Best Sushi in Centreville, hands down.

Treat you like family, have fantastic food at good prices, as soon as you get in they give you a sampler size portion of edamame and these pork dumplings that are amazing.

Awesome rolls, no need to look any further if you’re in the area and looking for killer sushi.

While living down the road for about 8 months, we frequented Matsu sushi about 15 times, each just as good, if not better than the previous.

I’ve been here twice now, and both times had an excellent experience. I’ve tried a number of different rolls: pickled radish, california, tuna avocado, and spicy salmon to name a few. I also felt rather daring and sampled the octopus nigiri, which was like eating the ocean in the best possible way. Beyond the sushi, I’ve also enjoyed dumplings and various other starters. All yummy. The portions were perfect, everything tasted fresh and good, the service was polite and fast. It is pricey, but not overly so. This place is right down the street from my house, so if it weren’t for the fact that my boyfriend doesn’t care for sushi, we’d probably be here all the time. Instead, this is a nice place I go with my brother or a few friends.

My boyfriend and I recently moved so we now live too far from our old regular Japanese restaurant. We came to Yelp to find a new one and tried out Matsu. I am SO glad we did!

Our waiter and the rest of the staff were incredibly friendly. The menu is fairly large. We started with steamed shumai, which I get every time I eat Japanese. They were great. We each got an entree and sushi. The sushi was fabulous, although a bit pricier than other Japanese restaurants in the area. I had Chicken Yakisoba and it was very tasty. Lots of chicken and veggies.

I am very pleased with my experience here and will definitely be coming back.

If you’re looking for a great Japanese restaurant, look no farther! I would highly recommend eating here.

The service, atmosphere, and most importantly food were all AMAZING! This is a family-owned Japanese restaurant at which the staff and sushi chefs are actually Japanese. The staff is very friendly, and service is quick, courteous, and unobtrusive. You definitely feel welcome here.

The food was prepared simply, but all the ingredients tasted really fresh, it was expertly cooked, and I LOVED the teriyaki sauce (I normally don’t care for it). The sushi was very good as well, especially the Kamikaze and Tokyo Mama specialty rolls. The miso was delicious (a good sign), as was the salad dressing. They provide complimentary hors d’oeuvres too. Very classy!

I was in town for business and placed an over for takeout over the phone. I received great recommendations from the lady who answered the phone and ordered the double spicy salmon roll, alaska roll, spicy salmon hand roll and a philadelphia hand roll. The total was $25, very good price for such fresh fish. The philly hand roll was not amazing, but the double spicy salmon roll was fantastic. Will definitely come back soon.
